Creating a Requirement Based Assessment

Creating a Requirement Based Assessment

The Requirement Based Assessment (RBA) is great for running maturity assessments and internal audits.

To create a RBA, from the New button, select the Assessment.

Or, on the audits & assessments page, select Create assessment.

Select Requirement Based.

Start from Scratch

To create an RBA from scratch, make sure the Start from Scratch tab is selected.

Then:

  1. Enter in the name of the assessment
  2. Select either a control set or an authority document as the requirements to assess against
  3. Select the category of the assessment
  4. Select the respondent (typically these are used for internal assessments)
  5. Then select a Product (this is optional and is used to group assessments)

Once the fields are complete, click Create to create the assessment. Alternatively, you can click Save As Template, which will save the assessment you are about to create as a template from which you can then create assessments. Note if you are creating a template, you do not need to select a Respondent.

Note that if you are in a Partner team (Hub), you can ONLY create assessment templates. To run an RBA with a client you will need to log into the Client's team (Spoke) and do it from there.

Select from Template

You can also create an RBA from a template or previously-run assessment. To do this, select the Select from Template tab. You can then select a template to copy from, or if you change the Type (1), you can select from a previously-run assessment. Select the assessment then hit next.

You will then be required to:

  1. Enter in the name of the assessment
  2. Select the respondent (typically these are used for internal assessments)
  3. Then select a Product (this is optional and is used to group assessments)

Once the fields are complete, click Create to create the assessment. Alternatively, you can click Save As Template, which will save the assessment you are about to create as a template from which you can then create assessments.

If you are creating a template, you do not need to select a Respondent.

Creating Assessment Templates

You can create a template from the New Assessment modal. You'll need to:

  1. Add the assessment name
  2. Select the Authority / Control Set
  3. Select the category

Once you have entered in the necessary details, click Save As Template.
